A Greyhound bus has crashed into a tractor-trailer on the New Jersey Turnpike, injuring the bus driver and five passengers and forcing a section of the roadway to shut down during the morning rush.

State Trooper Stephen Jones says the bus was carrying only five passengers when the collision happened Monday morning on the southbound Turnpike in Cranbury. The passengers' injuries were not life threatening.

Jones says the bus driver was trapped inside the vehicle and was to be flown to a hospital. The extent of her injuries was not immediately known.

Southbound lanes of the Turnpike were closed in the area.
