An American Eagle plane with 45 passengers that had just landed at O'Hare this afternoon, but no one was injured, authorities said.
On landing, the plane's brakes locked and tires blew out, but no one was injured in the incident, said Chicago Fire Department spokesman Will Knight. All four tires blew out when the American Eagle plane landed just before 2:35 p.m., American Airlines spokeswoman Mary Frances Fagan said.
There were 45 passengers and a crew of four aboard at the time of the incident, Fagan said.
The plane, flight 3885, is a 50-seat Embraer 145, and blew all four main gear tires upon landing at O'Hare, Fagan said in an e-mail.
The flight had left Hartford, Connecticut at 1:36 p.m. local time, she said. Passengers were taken off the plane via stairs and bused to Terminal 3, Fagan said. The aircraft has been taken out of service and was being towed from runway 22R.
