One person was injured in an accident on the Eisenhower Expressway (I-290)that briefly closed three lanes Wednesday morning on the West Side. The accident happened on the outbound Eisenhower at Kostner Avenue at 1:51 a.m., according to Illinois State Police District Chicago trooper Ivan Bukaczyk.
Bukaczyk said one person was transported to Loretto Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. He did not know the age or gender of the victim.
Three lanes of the four-lane expressway were initially shut down because of the wreck, Bukaczyk said. The accident was cleared and all lanes were re-opened by 2 a.m., he said.
The trooper said a Toyota automobile was involved in the accident, but it was not immediately known if other vehicles were involved or how the accident occurred.
