An 89-year-old man died this morning after a car accident in northwest suburban Palatine.
Nicola Masellis, of the 4800 block of West Waveland Avenue in Chicago, was pronounced dead at 2:30 a.m. at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, according to a spokeswoman for the Cook County medical examiner's office.
Masellis was a passenger in a vehicle involved in a crash this morning on Northwest Highway in Palatine, said the spokeswoman.
Palatine police could not provide any additional information about the crash and said they would issue a statement later today.
